The championship renewal at Pine Island Wildlife Area, Portage, Wis., became a reality this year under the National Bird Hunters Association (NBHA). We would like to thank the NBHA and all of their sponsors; Purina, Tri-Tronics, Christie Enterprises and Gun Dog Supply. Without their continued support trials like ours would not be a success.
As we all know the weather in Wisconsin during the first week in April ...

Weather for this renewal was warmer than normal and had been dry for some time this spring. It made bird-finding a little tougher this year, requiring a good dog with a good nose that laid down a strong searching race.

He would have been proud of the wonderful turnout of amateur handlers for the 22nd running of the Don Didcoct Memorial Cover Dog Trial. On top of all that he would have had a twinkle in his eye seeing that all four stakes were won by amateur handlers.
