College Scholarship Opportunity for High School Seniors

Grand Junction, Tenn. — The Bird Dog Foundation, Inc., a non-profit, 501 (c) (3) organization founded in 1991, whose primary mission purpose is to preserve and promote the traditions of bird dogs, field trials, hunting and shooting sports, would like to announce that its annual College Scholarship Essay Contest is open to all interested college bound high school seniors who reside in TN, MS and AR.


In addition, students who reside in any of the U.S. fifty (50) states who are affiliated with Field Trial, Bird Hunting & Sporting Dog Clubs, Organizations and Associations are also eligible to enter. We welcome your club member’s student’s entries into the contest!


This essay contest is free to enter and has two Place Awards: 1st Place—$1,500 Scholarship and

2nd Place—$1,000 Scholarship.


Entries must be submitted at the latest by April 15 of each year. The list of essay topics ranges from Agriculture to Wildlife Management. A complete list of acceptable topics is included with the official rules of the contest which are available through the Bird Dog Foundation’s website under the "Art & Essay Contest" section. Essay topics are also included in the PDF below (under "Related Information"). Rules may be requested via email to the Education Coordinator at the Bird Dog Foundation at: or stop by the National Bird Dog Museum in person if you are visiting Grand Junction, TN.


The Bird Dog Foundation looks forward to hearing from you. Please include a letter of verification of the affiliation with a club or organization along with your essay submission. (For example, children of a current club member in good standing are eligible.)
