2021-2022 Points Standings

AFTCA Top Handler Award

By Frank LaNasa | Nov 19, 2021

Isanti, Minn. — Three months into the season, the following handlers currently are high points earners in their respective AFTCA Regions. With the 30-minute Amateur Derby stakes now eligible for points the competition is heating up.

It is a welcome sight to see the number and participation of 30-minute Amateur All-Age, Amateur Shooting Dog and Amateur Derby stakes being held by member clubs across the county to be well ahead of last year’s pace.

Last year’s Top Amateur Handler, Thor Kain, is off to a strong start but over 60% of the season is still ahead. Winter and spring are the most active seasons for many Regions. Other Regions have already peaked their activity during these past fall months.

For a complete “Real Time” listing of all Top Handlers refer to the aftca.org website. We encourage participants to confirm their points by clicking on your name in the standings and if you feel any placements are missing or are inaccurate, please get in touch with the host club of that event.

This year's National Top Handler will be presented the AFTCA’s Top Handler Blue Crystal along with the Top Handler Sterling Silver Belt Buckle at the 2022 annual Purina Awards Banquet.
