All-America Championships

Pinckneyville, Ill. — The All-America Championships were held at the Pyramid State Recreation Area in Pinckneyville, Ill.

Twelve dogs competed in the All-America Derby Championship. Earning the championship title was Knight Moon, white and orange pointer male owned by Scott Griffin of Camden, S. C., and handled by Ike Todd. Lester’s Stem Winder, white and orange pointer male owned by Tommy Loid and David Thompson of Bowling Green, Ky., and handled by Mark Haynes, claimed the runner-up spot.

Topping the 18-dog field in the All-America Quail Championship was Lester’s Shockwave, two-year-old white and orange ticked pointer male owned by Gary Lester of Gracey, Ky., and handled by Mark Haynes. Named runner-up was Miller’s Justifiable, three-year-old white and liver pointer male owned by Jay McKenzie of Eureka, Kan., and handled by Randy Anderson.

Judging both stakes were Chris Weatherly of Grand Junction, Tenn., and Lou Qualtiere of Saskatoon, Sask.

The weather was excellent for both stakes and the grounds were in great condition.
