Annual Meeting and Awards Presentations Scheduled

Association of Michigan Field Trial Clubs

By David A. Fletcher, Secretary | Jun 10, 2021

Morrice, Mich. — Sunday, July 11, the Association of Michigan Field Trial Clubs will hold its annual meeting at the clubhouse on the Ionia grounds, which will also include a steak fry and presentation of Dog of the Year Awards.

We have not held a meeting since July, 2019. The 2020 meeting was cancelled because of COVID, although the winners' plaques were presented at one of the Gladwin field trials and at the Ionia Grounds Committee meeting when neither clubhouse was available.

The annual meeting will begin at 11:00 a.m. The cookout will be in progress and when the food is ready if the meeting is not over we will resume after disposing of the hearty steaks. The Dog of the Year Awards and the Rogers Award will follow.

Club representatives are reminded to bring a dish to pass to broaden the menu. The Association will provide the steaks, a vegetable (possibly baked potato or potato salad) and all the table and utensil materials.

This is also a reminder to the point-keepers for the Dog of the Year Awards to get their selections ready early to provide enough time so plaques can be made and winners notified by mail of the meeting, the Awards and the time and place of our gathering. The Rogers Award information will also be needed early.

The plaques will require the dog's registered name, breed and sex, owner and handler. This information will be on the plaque. Winners who are unable to attend should  submit a mailing address so plaques can be mailed to them.

Member club treasurers please check you outgoing check record to see if your club has paid all of the $1 per dog from the two years of trials or cancelled trials you held, to assist preparation of financial statements.

Please forward plaque information for Dog of the Year and Rogers Award to me.
