Central Carolina Trials

Hoffman, N. C. — The Central Carolina trials followed on the heels of the Tar Heel Open Championship. First place winner of the Bill Andrews Open All-Age Stake was Marques Armed Robber, four-year-old pointer male owned by John Ivester of Charlotte, N. C., and handled by Lefty Henry. Second was awarded to Game Wardon, three-year-old pointer male owned by Dr. Fred Corder of Corinth, Miss., and handled by Luke Eisenhart. And third place went to Touch’s Malcolm Story, three-year-old pointer male owned by Alex Rickert of Bozeman, Mont., and handled by Mark McLean.

Judges were Bill Mason of Moundville, Ala., and Dr. Hunter Wilcox of Lumberton, N. J. Thirty-seven dogs competed at the Robert Gordon Wildlife Area.

Companion Open Derby winners were: first place to Dunn’s Hell’n Highwater, pointer male owned by Will and Rita Dunn and handled by Luke Eisenhart. Placed second was Tripp Nation, pointer male owned by Juston Burson and handled by Tommy Davis. Papa Joe, handled by Mike Hester, was third.

Judges were Lefty Henry of Foxfire, N. C., and John Ivester. Eighteen young contenders competed.
