Ch. Taz is Put to Rest

By Robert Ecker | Jun 09, 2017

Quakake, Pa. — Taz, white and orange setter male, was put to rest recently by his loving owner, Marge Gould. Taz was about a month shy of his 18th birthday!

He was an amazing dog, with an amazing career. His record stands at 22 wins, the sire of 25 winners that have accumulated 190 placements.

Considering he was bred no more than ten times, his production record and his four titled get are impressive  — most notably Grand National Grouse Champion Moss Meadow Traveler and U. S. Complete National Invitational Champion Grouse Woods Reese.

Taz was owned during his campaigning years by the late sportsman Phil Gould of Bloomsbury, N. J. Phil loved class bird dogs and Taz was all that you could want!

His titles were of the highest quality,  winning on woodcock, quail, sharptail grouse, and ruffed grouse.

He won titles in Rhode Island, Connecticut, Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin. Taz won his first title at age three, and his final title at age ten.

Taz was one of my favorite dogs, mostly because he always gave it his all, no matter what the conditions were.

He was one of the great ones, for sure.
