Greg St. John Has Died

Greg St. John, 73, of South Fulton, Tenn., a familiar name in the field trial game, died July 9 at Baptist Health in Paducah, Ky.

Greg was born July 11, 1944. He worked as an electrician for the Illinois Central and P and L Railroad for 42 years.

Greg was involved in the field trial game for nearly fifty years, most of his winners earning placements in a top- flight amateur stakes, notably at the West Kentucky grounds near Paducah. He not only competed successfully, but judged any number of top-flight stakes, often with his son Keith St. John.

His Walnut Grove Lady (Miller’s Silver Bullett-Chief’s Peggy) had a stellar career, notching some 33 wins, among them winning the National Am- ateur Pheasant Championship in 1996, and earlier, runner-up in the National Amateur Quail Championship in 1995.

Greg is survived by his wife Sheral whom he married in 1976; two sons, Keith (Cami) of South Fulton, and Jon of Corinth, Miss., four grandchildren and one great grandchild.
