Indiantown Gap Trials

Petersburg, Pa. — The Indiantown Gap Club ran a three- stake program November 11-16 at the Keystone Bird Dog Trust grounds near Petersburg, Pa.

Open judges were Bart Hastings of Seaford, Del., and R. B. Powell of Lewistown, Pa.

Winner of the Keystone Open Shooting Dog Championship was North Country Girl, seven-year-old white and liver pointer female owned by Dave McKay of Perkasie, Pa., and Joe McHugh of Boston, Ga., and handled by Mike Tracy. Handler Jeanette Tracy won runner-up laurels with another seven-year-old pointer female, Steel City Karen, owned by Bob and Karen Reed of Gettysburg, Pa., and Betsy Archer. There were 24 starters.

The 22-dog Keystone Yankee Open Derby was won by Joe McHugh’s pointer female Miller’s Extreme Heat. Second went to Erin’s Big Casino, setter male owned by Paul Berdiner of Millersville, Pa. Both were handled by Mike Tracy. Third went to Backcountry Girlfriend, pointer female owned and handled by Chris Catanzarite of Scenery Hill, Pa.

Chris also won the 20-dog Indiantown Gap Amateur Shooting Dog Classic with Backcountry Bruiser. Second went to Sal Morelli’s Navajo Cody, the dog handled by Joe Lordi, Jr. Gunner Boyer’s Bad Bourbon was third. All winners are pointer males.

The Amateur Classic was judged by Lee Long and Marty Zukovich.
