Kanto Open Quail Championship

Gunma Pref., Japan — The Kanto Open Quail Championship was held January 3 on Kanna River Field site in Gunma Pref., Japan. We ran twelve qualified dogs.

We received great support  from many members and  it was greatly appreciated.

Weather for the trial was good, with temperatures in the 37°-45° range.

Judges were Hiroshi Nakagawa (Ibaragi Pref.) and Kouzou Kikuchi (Tochigi Pref.). The trial started at 7:15 a. m.

The winner was Answer For You, white and liver pointer male owned and handled by Yoshiyuki Nagase (Gifu Pref.). He had eight mannerly finds and a strong forward race.

The runner-up was Changing Partner, white and black setter male owned by Keiji Ishibashi and handled by Nobumasa Takeishi (Ibaragi Pref). Partner put down a fast nice race and had six finds.

Winner—ANSWER FOR YOU, 1625256, pointer male, by Top of the Rock—Fuyuno River’s Ere. Yoshiyuki Nagase, owner and handler.

Runner-Up—CHANGING PARTNER, 1670130, setter male, by Grouse Ridge Spencer—Zoro Grouse Angel. Keiji Ishibashi, owner; Nobumasa Takeishi, handler.
