Kentucky Quail Classic

Paducah, Ky. — The Kentucky Quail Classic at the West Kentucky grounds near Paducah, Ky., drew 31 dogs, and the companion Derby, 27.

Winner of the All-Age Classic was Dunn’s Tried’n True, five-year-old white and orange pointer male handled by Luke Eisenhart for owners Will and Rita Dunn of Lebanon, Ky. Second was Dominator’s Rebel Heir, five-year-old white and liver pointer male handled by Jamie Daniels and owned by James W. Hamilton, Jr. of Atlanta, Ga. Third was Miller’s Bushwacker, also handled by Jamie Daniels. The white and orange pointer male is owned by Benjy Griffith of Leesburg, Ga.

In the Open Derby, the winner was Touch’s American Baby, white and orange pointer female owned by Keith A. Wright and handled by Ike Todd. Second was Miller’s Justifiable, white and liver pointer male owned by Al Bryson of Huntingburg, Ind., and handled by Gary Lester. Third was Lester’s Storm Surge, white and orange pointer male owned and handled by Gary Lester of Gracey, Ky.

Ed Epp of Tallahassee, Fla., and William Smith of Moscow, Tenn., judged both stakes.

Our club members were outstanding in their assistance during this week-long event. Special thanks to Mike Crouse, Terry Allen, Alan Benson, John Russell, Greg and Martha Veatch for going above and beyond to ensure our trial was a success.
