Amateur Shooting Dog Winners. From front left: Go Illini Butch, Hainline’s Silver Star      and Hainline’s Rock’N Roller. They are joined by handlers and trial officials.

Eagarville, Ill. — The number of entries was down  for this renewal but everyone who came had a good time.

Two of the three officers of this club were not up to 100%. Gary Matevey was getting over a stroke and Ron Hamp the shingles.

The Amateur Shooting Dog was won by setter male Go Illini Butch  with three good finds, a back  and a good race. Butch was handled by Al Rolando for his owner Gary Matevey. Second went to Hainline’s Silver Star with two good finds and a strong ground race. Hainline’s Rock’N Roller took third with one find and two backs.

In the Amateur Derby, Hainline’s Rock’N Roller was back in the winners’ circle, rendering a strong classy race. Second was Illini Patch with three finds, which he held until flush, and a somewhat shorter race. Third went to Buddy with a big ground race.

Rick Girth and Dan Wright served as judges for both stakes.
