Michael K. “Mike” McClanahan Has Died

Lee’s Summit, Mo. — Michael K. McClanahan, 65, of Lee’s Summit, Mo., passed away at home on February 20.

Mike was born June 24, 1952 in Kansas City, Mo.,  the son of Keith and Maxine McClanahan. Mike graduated from Lee’s Summit High School in 1970 and successfully achieved a Bachelor of Science Degree from Central Methodist University. He enjoyed playing basketball through high school and college. After graduation, he followed in his father’s footsteps, joining the family plumbing business, M&M Plumbing.

In 1982 he married the love of his life, Felecia (Smith) McClanahan. During their marriage they raised two boys, Ryan and Matthew McClanahan. Through his life he enjoyed spending time with his family, shooting dog field trials, and raising longhorn registered cattle.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Keith and Maxine McClanahan. Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Felecia; sister, Kathy McClanahan; sons, Ryan (Brittany) and Matthew; and grandson, Crew McClanahan.
