Camden, S. C. — Fall 2019 Mid-Carolina Field Trial Club began its 60th year of running. The weather was miserable at times during Thursday and Friday’s running.

Saturday, however, saw a break in the rain and wind.

As with all trials the success is dependent on many individuals. Stake Manager Ken Fleming, in spite of the weather, kept everything moving smoothly.

Helping him with bird planting and various chores were Lance Ellis, Glen Tisdale and Ben Stephens.

Also, thanks to Melissa Thomas and Cindy Pescod, plenty of snacks were available for all participants. Again our lunches were skillfully prepared by Mr. Cliff Brown.

The fish fry prepared by Ben Stephens and Nathan Pratt was the highlight of the trial.

Judges in the Open stakes were Margaret and Earl Drew of Hoffman, N. C. They both have a wealth of knowledge, successfully running their own dogs. In spite of the weather, they gave all the dogs their undivided attention.

The Amateur stakes were judged by Matt Basilone and Bill Adams. Both are well known and we are thankful to have their assistance judging our stakes.

We wish to particularly thank Julie Locklear and Nutrena Loyall pet foods for providing dog food and horse feed for our winners.

Hope to see y’all in the spring.
