Grovespring, Mo. — In a hotly contested 40th renewal, Judges Mark Johnson of Winnebago, Ill., and Danny Draffen of Bunceton, Mo., sorted through many worthy performances to award coming eight-year-old white and liver pointer male Chelsea’s Thunder Bolt for owners Dr. Tom Jackson and George Hickox the prestigious honor of Bolt’s 20th championship title. Bolt’s brilliant and powerful four find performance on a hot spring afternoon clinched the victory for this great champion.

Runner-up laurels went to the veteran nine-year-old white and liver pointer female Hale’s Southern Touch for owner Dr. Jeff Hale of Russellville, Ark. Southern Touch displayed her talents and knowledge from previous years’ victories on the Sportsmen’s Association grounds rendering a masterful and smooth five find performance on the third day’s running.

Shawn Kinkelaar piloted these two great performers to victory in convincing fashion over a field of 44 canine competitors.
