National Amateur Prairie Chicken Shooting Dog Championship

Wisconsin Rapids, Wis. — Judges Frank LaNasa of Isanti, Minn., and Jerry Kolter of  Sandstone, Minn., evaluated a field of 26 entries — 9 pointers and 17 setters — in the 2017 renewal of the National Amateur Prairie Chicken Shooting Dog Championship. The Championship commenced on  Friday, September 22, at Wisconsin Rapids, Wis., under less than favorable conditions.Earning the title was Strut Nation, three-year-old white and orange pointer male owned and handled by Scott Jordan of Grant, Minn. Named runner-up was Shag Time Scout, five-year-old white and black setter male owned and handled by Chris Cagle of Novi, Mich.
