National Bird Hunters Association News

By Tim Penn | Feb 06, 2020

Edina, Mo. — The NBHA National Open Championship committee consisting of Ken Black, Marty Robinson, Brett Bonner and Greg Blair invite you to the historic West Tennessee field trial grounds. The hospitality shown by the West Tennessee Club and the Currie family will put a smile on your face, a warmth in your heart and fully satisfy your hunger!

Mark your calendars to join us in Dancyville, Tenn., the week of March 4-8.

Daily lunches will be served and evening hospitality around the famed West Tennessee fire-pit, and special meals provided by either the NBHA, last year’s champion Blair’s Witch Project or “on your dime.”

Bring your smiles, a cooler full of your favorite refreshments, plenty of stories and enter your dogs. We will have a great time!

To support the Championship, we will have raffle items donated by Garmin, Purina Pro Plan and our other sponsors.

Some of the items available will be either the Astro 430/T5 or the Alpha 100/TT15 and a Garmin watch, your choice of Pro Plan dog food, Gun Dog Supply coupons, Mule items, etc.

In addition to the raffle, the committee is asking everyone to bring your used field trial equipment. We will set up a table with all the items; they will either be marked with a minimal price or they will be yours for whatever financial donation you would like to drop in the collection jar/box.

If  any youth, young handlers, come and would like any of the tack, collars, etc. — a good way to start their own field trial equipment collection — items for the youth are FREE for the taking. They must be there to select them, one item per child. Just see one of the committee members.

Plan to join us March 4-8 in Dancyville, Tenn.

The Missouri State Bird Hunters previously advertised to host the NBHA Free-For-All Championship starting on January 10. Due to inclement weather this event was cancelled.

We are planning to reschedule this trial to start on Tuesday, March 24, at the Whetstone Conservation Area near Williamsburg, Mo. Participants may refer to the original ad, page 2 of the December 14 issue. Judges remain the same.

This event will be redrawn at the home of Tim Penn on Thursday, March 19, at 7:00 p. m. This event will precede the NBHA Midwest Regional Championship (see ad in upcoming February 29 issue) held at the same location. Entries can be made with Tim Penn (660) 341-1165 or Larry Carpenter (573) 694-0713.
