National Pheasant Shooting Dog Championship

Bloomingdale, Ohio — The 62nd National Pheasant Shooting Dog Championship started on Monday, September 17, on the beautiful grounds of the Mingo Sportman’s Club in Bloomingdale, Ohio. Judges Dr. Bob Reynolds of Salem, Ohio and Ralph Gillota  of Medina, Ohio were in the saddle for all 64 dogs drawn.

The judges named Palara the champion with three finds and a gutsy performance. Palara was handled by Mike Tracy and is owned by longtime patron Sal J. Morelli of White Plains, N. Y. Steel City Karen, handled by Jeanette Tracy and owned by Bob Reed and Betsy Archer of Gettysburg, Pa., was named runner-up with three finds and an unproductive.
