National Prairie Chicken Championship

Wisconsin Rapids, Wis. — The National Prairie Chicken Shooting Dog Championship began Monday, September 23, at the Buena Vista Grasslands, Wisconsin Rapids, Wis.

Thirty-four dogs were drawn (22 pointers, 11 setters and one Irish setter) to compete in the Championship, with ten (nine pointers and one setter) drawn for the Open Derby.

The judges are Sean Hauser of Manchester, Ia., and Mark Livingston of Central City, Ia.
