North Carolina Open Quail Championship

Hoffman, N. C. — The 2021 renewal of the  North Carolina Open Quail Championship commenced March 19 at the celebrated Robert Gordon Sandhills Game Managment Area Hoffman, N.C. The stake drew 31 entries, 26 pointers and five setters.

Judges Tony Bingham of Fallston, N.C., and Time Ruff of Irmo, S.C., presided, naming Southern Nation the winner.  The Derby-age white and liver pointer male is owned by John Ivester of  Huntersville, N.C., and Ruthann Epp of Marion Junction, Ala., and was handled by Robert "Lefty" Henry.  Runner-up was K H Game Train,  four-year-old white and liver pointer male owned and handled by Scott Griffin of Camden, S.C.
