North Carolina Open Shooting Dog Championship

Hoffman, N. C. — Waybetter Rocky, six-year-old white and orange pointer male owned by Muriel and William Primm of Cream Ridge, N. J., and Carl, Joyce and Collin Bishop of Punxsutawney, Pa., was named winner of the North Carolina Open Shooting Dog Championship. He was handled by Mike Tracy.

Doug Ray guided Miller’s Creative Cause to the runner-up spot. The eight-year-old white and orange pointer male is owned by Tommy Liesfeld of Waynesboro, Ga.

Judges Mark Hughes of Grampian, Pa., and Ray Joye of Marion, S. C., presided over the Championship which drew 58 entries.

David Hughes, one of the advertised judges, was replaced by Ray Joye after David had a horse accident.

Quail were plentiful but an abnormal amount of unproductives were incurred.
