Edina, Mo. — The North Missouri Field Trial Club held their NBHA trial January 16, the first day after the close of Missouri’s Quail season, at the White Oak Ranch near Edina, Mo.

Course was in excellent condition, with plenty of cover bordering the field edges throughout. With a blanket of snow covering the ground it provided for a good test to measure the dogs' ability to secure its game, holding the quail under point.

Special thanks to Judges Dan Draffen of Bunceton, Mo., and Tony King of Thompson, Mo., and Tim Penn of Edina, Mo. Bird planter and dog wagon specialist Kevin Western, maintained and kept the running of the trial very smooth. And to White Oak Farm Manager Cory Huchteman for the use of the grounds and facilities.

Open Shooting Dog Stake winner was Craig’s Runin Roxie, pointer female owned and handled by Craig Hiatt of Edgerton, Mo.  Second was Penrosa Behrdevil, pointer male and third was Penrosa Hidncash, setter male, both owned and handled by Tim Penn of Edina, Mo.

In the Amateur Derby, first was Wild Covey Coldsnap, pointer male owned and handled by Tony King of Thompson, Mo.  Second was Faye, pointer female also owned and handled by Tony King.

Amateur Shooting Dog repeat winner was Craig’s Runin Roxie. Second was Penrosa Behrdevil, pointer male owned and handled by Tim Penn, and third went to Performance Blue Shadow, pointer female owned and handled by Jim Reece of Osage City, Kan.

To our field trial sponsors we would like to thank Purina Pro Plan for their ongoing commitment to supporting the NBHA trials. Thanks to Gun Dog Supply for their generous gift certificates that are provided at this trial, and the other NBHA sponsors Garmin and Mule Brand Clothes which supports the NBHA.
