Prairie Open Stakes

Mayflower, Ark.. — The results are in and owner-handler Larry Smith of Pleasant Hill, Ia., claimed top honors  in the Prairie Open All-Age with Derby-age white and orange pointer male S F Stetson. Second was Touch’s Blackout, white and orange pointer male coming seven for handler Randy Anderson and owner Ric Peterson of Gilbert, Ariz. In the third spot was Game Bo, white and liver pointer male for owner Dr. Fred Corder of Corinth Miss., handled by David Williams. Twenty-three dogs competed in the All-Age.

In the companion Derby, Randy Anderson made it a clean sweep. Pointer male Miller’s Hot Rod was first for proud owner D. Raines Jordan of Talbottom, Ga. Placed second was Miller’s Select Call, pointer male for owner Don Stroble of Mechanicsburg, Pa. Rounding out the field was Touch’s Fire Away, pointer male owned by Mike and Molly Cour of Lampasas, Tex., who are surely proud. Fifteen Derbies were entered.

These were two tough stakes! Ronnie Miller of Van Buren, Ark., joined me for the decisions.
