Quail Championship Invitational

Paducah, Ky. — The 2017 running of the Quail Championship Invitational was concluded Monday, November 27, at the West Kentucky WMA near Paducah, Ky.

Named winner was Dunn’s Tried’n True, four-year-old white and orange  pointer male owned by Will and Rita Dunn of Lebanon, Ky.,  and handled by Luke Eisenhart.  Tried’n True also won the stake in 2016.

Runner-up was Lester’s Sunny Hill Jo, four-year-old white and orange pointer  male owned by David Thompson of Edmonton, Ky., and handled by Gary Lester.

Also called back were Dominator’s Rebel Heir, handled by Jamie Daniels,  and Erin’s Wild Justice for Eisenhart. On standby were Erin’s Hidden Shamrock (Sean Derrig) and Coldwater Thunder (Steve Hurdle).

Judges were Eddie Berendzen of Higbee, Mo., Jim Crouse of Dixon, Ky., and Mark Livingston of Central City, Iowa. Colvin Davis of Minter, Ala., was advertised to judge but encountered truck problems south of Birmingham, Ala., and was unable to come. Jim Crouse was pressed into service to complete the judicial panel.
