Random Notes . . .

Jun 27, 2019

It won’t be long and the caravan of dog trainers will begin the trek northward to the Dakota and Canadian prairies. Loaded with prospects, the caravan usually traverses up I-29 through St. Joseph, Mo., to Omaha, Neb., to all points west and north.

As an addendum to Dr. Pat McInteer’s note in the June 29 issue, be aware that the route may have to be altered this year. Unusually heavy rainfall and a generous amount of snow melt has the Missouri River running full and beyond. I-29 has been closed twice in the Spring due to the flooding.

You may check online for current conditions at: Additionally you can check with the Missouri Highway Patrol for current updates. The website provides suggested alternate routes. Travel safe and have a great time on the prairies.
