Dale Bush (left) and Dr. Everett Crouch.

Good friends Dale Bush of College Station, Tex., and Everett Crouch of Jacksonville, Fla., joined in a great quail hunt in South Texas recently while “discussing the finer things in life — fine bird dogs, field trialing, and our love of bird hunting,” wrote Dr. Crouch.

Both men have been longtime patrons of the sport, Dr. Crouch campaigning winning pointers with Robin Gates, notably Silverwood, a multiple champion and Purina Award winner (1997 and 2002) and elected to the Field Trial Hall of Fame in 2008; and Big Sky Pete, pointer male co-owned with Dr. B. J. Kelley of Memphis.

Dale Bush has held several prominent posts in the sport — president of the Amateur Field Trial Clubs of America, president of the Bird Dog Foundation and a member of the National Field Trial Champion Association board of directors.

He has judged virtually all the major stakes — all-age and shooting dog — in the United States and the Canadian prairies.

Dale was elected to the Field Trial Hall of Fame in 2012.
