Region 17 Amateur Shooting Dog Championship

By Dave Merritt | Nov 29, 2018

Havensville, Kan. — The Region 17 Amateur Shooting Dog Championship was concluded November 19 with an entry of 26 dogs. Judges were Don Kimble of Andover, Kan., and Jay Lewis of Ashland, Mo.

Named champion was Erin’s Hearts On Fire, two and a half-year-old white and liver pointer male owned and handled by Sean Patrick Derrig of Norridge, Ill. This is Sean’s first championship win. With the bitter cold and arctic winds, “Dan” was able to locate and handle four finds. He had a nice front running race and was a joy to watch.

Named runner-up was Nemaha Rio, Dr. Pat McInteer’s young white and liver pointer male. Rio had a big front-running race and two finds. Dr. Pat is no newcomer to the winners’ circle and is always a good guy to have around.
