Oroville, Cal. — The Sacramento Bird Dog Club held its fall field trial on September 22-23 at the Thermalito Afterbay in Oroville, Cal., in very warm conditions.  The field trial was very successful and enjoyable. We had a great deal of bird work on liberated bobwhite quail. We reunited with old friends and met a few new ones.

Troy Kresha and Blake Edwards drove from Bakersfield, Cal., to attend.  This was Troy’s first field trial and he won the Derby with his pointer female “Sky”.  Thank you, Troy and Blake, for making the drive.

Tom Barrett drove from Santa Rosa, Cal., to judge the Shooting Dog Stake.  Tom has trained and successfully competed with his dogs for many years.  Tom is a member of the Sacramento Club and always brings a big smile and a positive attitude. Tom’s judging knowledge is finely detailed and appreciated.

Thank you to Karissa Shuman and Dalton Wilder for graciously handling the dog truck duties.

Karissa has been attending trials with her dad all her life. Dalton is a native of Texas and this was his first field trial.  Karissa and Dalton were spot on and never missed a beat with dog truck duties.

The Sacramento Bird Dog Club would like to thank Jeff Lostak, Sean Kelly, Jared Tappero and Ray Nelson for judging and handling.

Thanks to all the participants. Without you this field trial would not have been the success that is was.
