Series of Open All-Age Stakes Scheduled for Coming Fall Season

Jul 21, 2020

CHICAGO, ILL. — An earlier feature calling attention to the coming fall season noted two major stakes — the National Amateur Pheasant Shooting Dog Championship and the  Montana Open Shooting Dog Championship — scheduled for Circle,  Mont., in August.

Word recently received informs of a series of major stakes slated for the all-age circuit in October.

The Midwest all-age circuit trials will begin October 14 with the Mid-America Open Championship and Derby at the Westfall Brothers Ranch near Longton, Kan., followed by the Kansas Prairie Open All-Age and Derby hosted by the Gyp Hills Club on the Z Bar Ranch, Medicine Lodge, Kan.

The coronavirus and subsequent border restrictions forced the cancellation of the major Canadian trials. Paul Falkowsky of Calgary, Alberta, a principal of the Border International Championship and the Alberta All-Age Classic has agreed to the transition of the Alberta Classic and Derby to Kansas for the 2020 running.

The Alberta Classic and Derby will begin approximately 24 hours after the Z Bar Ranch stakes.

Then to Oklahoma for the October 26 start of the Inola Open All-Age and Derby, followed by the Oklahoma Open Championship at the McFarlin-Ingersoll Ranch near Inola, Okla.
