Grovespring, Mo. — A Hale storm hit Grovespring, Mo., beginning October 22, 2018. Dr. Jeff Hale of Russellville, Ark., recorded a trifecta, owning winners at both levels.

Dr. Hale won the Derby with Hale’s High Flyer, white and liver pointer female handled by Eddy Taylor. In the Championship, Hale’s Southern Touch, seven-year-old white and liver pointer female, garnered the top spot with Shawn Kinkelaar handling. Named runner-up was Hale’s Kickstarter, five-year-old white and black pointer male handled by Eddy Taylor.

With fifty championship entries and nineteen Derbies this is quite an accomplishment.

Placing second in the Derby was Ruby Red, handled by Chuck Stretz. Third was Two Fingers Neat, pointer male owned by Charles Forsyth of Fort Worth, Tex., and handled by Virgil Moore.

Eddie Berendzen of Higbee, Mo.. and Kirk Swanson of Red Oak, Ia., presided over both stakes.
