Southwestern Open Championship

Trail City, S. D. — The Southwestern Open Derby was held Friday, August 31, on the Johnson Ranch in Trail City, S. D., drawing a field of 25 dogs. Owner Sean Derrig took first with his white and liver pointer male Erin’s Cold Justice.

Second was Jamie Daniels with his white and orange pointer male Dominator’s Rebel Squire. Luke Eisenhart placed White Smoke third.

Named champion was Dunn’s Tried’N True,  five-year-old white and orange pointer male owned by Will and Rita Dunn of Lebanon, Ky., and handled by Luke Eisenhart. Runner-up was True Confidence, nine-year-old white and orange pointer male owned by Frank and Jean LaNasa of Isanti, Minn., and also handled by Eisenhart.

Judges were Garland and Kathy Priddy of Raymond, Miss. The Championship drew 27 dogs.
