Field Trial Report

Spencer Farms Field Trial Club

By James Spencer | Jun 26, 2020
Dragonfly First in the Amateur Shooting Dog Stake

Milton, Fla. — The Spencer Farm field trial began at noon on March 13. The weather was hot and dry with the temperature in the mid-80s. There were plenty of water tubs on the courses and the dogs took advantage of them.

The judges were rotated to give them and their horses some breaks. The judges’ decisions were well received and appreciated. A big thank you goes to Fred Rayl, Keith McDill, Robby Thomas, Junior Sims, Scott Phipps, and Tom Hennes.

The food was prepared by Nikki Spencer and Keri Sims. Fancy cold cut sandwiches were served Saturday and Sunday and a sliced pork roast supper with all the trimmings and loads of banana pudding were enjoyed Saturday night.

We were glad to have Jim Hughes and his wife, Rhonda, make their first visit to our grounds as well as Jim Tande and Ralph Conner.

Bird planters were Ron Taylor and Mike Carmondy. Birds were put out between every brace and were assisted by eleven-year-old Landon Johnson, an up and coming dog handler.

The trial was a great success with over fifty entries, great help and plenty of birds.
