Western Open Championship

Reno, Nev. — The Western Open All-Age Championship concluded Saturday morning, April 24, at the Red Rock grounds, with both champion and runner-up being chosen from each of the last two braces of the stake.

Running in the 15th brace, andtopping a field of 32 entrants and declared champion, was Touch's Malcolm Story, white, orange, and ticked pointer dog, handled by Mark McLean and owned by Alex Rickert of Bozeman, Mont. Running in the 16th brace and awarded runner-up honors was Rocking J's Amy, white, liver, and ticked pointer bitch, owned and handled by Jarry Walton of Reno, Nev.

Judges for the National Championship qualifying stake were John Keel of Fresno, Cal., and Marty Middleton of Herriman, Utah A full report will follow.
